Migrating from Sortly

Moving from Sortly to OneAce takes about 15 minutes for a typical 1,000-item catalog. The migration tool maps your folders, items, photos, and custom fields in one pass — no spreadsheet wrangling required.

Before you start

  • Export your Sortly data: Settings → Export → choose CSV. Wait for the email link.
  • Create a free OneAce account at /register.
  • Pick the locale you want as your organization default (you can change this later).

How the mapping works

OneAce uses Sortly's structure as a hint, not a constraint. The defaults below cover most teams, and every mapping is reviewable before commit.

Sortly conceptOneAce destination
FoldersCategories & locations (you pick which)
ItemsItems with SKU, barcode, cost, sale price
QuantitiesOpening-balance stock movements (audit-trail preserved)
PhotosItem images (first photo becomes primary)
Custom fieldsItem custom fields (typed: text / number / boolean / date)
TagsTags (preserved verbatim)

What carries over, what doesn't

The migration tool focuses on data that has a clean one-to-one mapping. A few Sortly features either map to a richer OneAce concept or have no direct equivalent.

  • Activity history — replayed as opening-balance movements timestamped to the migration date, rather than the original Sortly timestamps.
  • QR labels — re-generated on OneAce. Old Sortly QR codes keep working via a redirect for 90 days after migration.
  • Sortly Sidekick (AI) — not migrated. OneAce has a native scan-assisted quick-add flow instead.

After the migration

  1. Review the mapping preview and approve.
  2. Run a stock count on your highest-velocity items as a sanity check.
  3. Invite the rest of your team (see Roles & permissions).
  4. Wire up your channel of choice (see Integrations) so new orders flow through.

Need a hand?

For catalogs over 10,000 items, or if your Sortly data uses nested folders deeper than four levels, reach out before you start — the team will run a dry migration on your export and share the diff. Email hello@oneace.app.
